THE LANGFORD’S BED AND BREAKFAST, WINCHESTER
Helen Langford (Ian’s sister) and her husband Chris own a beautiful, detached Victorian house in a quiet district of the historic city of Winchester. The rooms are large, spacious and well equipped, and each has its own bathroom.
The ancient city of Winchester is, of course, well worth a visit in its own right, but it also serves as an effective base from which to explore some of Southern England’s most spectacular locations. Stonehenge is only a 40 minutes’ drive away, as is the New Forest. Southampton, from which ferry services operate to the Isle of Wight, can be reached in 25 minutes. Bournemouth is just under an hour away, while it will take only one-and-a-half hours to travel down to Dorset’s remarkable Jurassic Coast.
The Langford’s Bed and Breakfast has received a Visit Britain 4 Diamond And Silver Award.
THE LYNTON COTTAGE HOTEL, LYNTON
The Lynton Cottage Hotel is a country house hotel situated in a position high above the North Devon village of Lynmouth. The hotel enjoys exceptional views of the Devon coast and what must surely be some of the highest cliffs in England.
The Lynton Cottage Hotel is ideally positioned for excursions to Exmoor and countless irresistible locations along the length of the North Devon and Somerset coast - Porlock Weir, Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and of course Lynmouth, to name but a few.
The owners of the hotel are very friendly (but not overbearingly so!) and exceptionally obliging. There is a relaxed atmosphere which helps to make guests feel very much at home.
The hotel restaurant has recently been awarded 2 AA Rosettes.
