Loch Etive

Glen Etive is reached by a narrow, winding road that leads off from the busy A82 just before that busiest of thoroughfares begins its descent into Glencoe. The road down to Glen Etive comes to a halt at an abandoned jetty at the head of Loch Etive. Although approximately 15 miles lie between the A82 and the northern end of Loch Etive, the rush and noise of the former and the peace and solitude of the latter makes it easy to believe that a whole world lies between the two.
