East Mersea, Essex

This view from East Mersea, the most easterly point of the most easterly populated island in the UK, is of the sun setting over the decommissioned Bradwell nuclear power station. In the foreground are polders, the remains of bushwood fences that were installed on the mud flats in 1989 to protect the cliff from erosion by the sea. Many thanks to Clive Burrow (www.cliveburrow.co.uk) for the information on the polders.

Exposure of 3.2 seconds at f/22.

Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens.
