Coastal East Anglia 2
Slaughden, Suffolk
Slaughden lies a short distance south of the Suffolk seaside town of Aldeburgh. Reached by a precariously pot-holed road, Slaughden is little more than a sailing club, an unusually ornate Martello Tower, and some beautifully coloured and textured rocks laid down to protect the eroding coastline. There is an irony in the fact that the rocks themselves happen to be as photogenic as the coastline they have been introduced to preserve.
