Wastwater lies some distance from the popular heart of the Lake District, and can be reached only by a narrow country lane that introduces its travellers to spectacular views of Great Gable, Yewbarrow and Scafell Pike as they approach the lake.

A long exposure of 59 seconds has stilled the surface of Wastwater and converted a moving cloud into what appears to be a footprint.

Canon EOS 5d and EF 16-35mm lens.
