Inland East Anglia 1
Framlingham
The castle at Framlingham must surely rank among the country’s finest. And with its mere (which in the 12th century was a far larger and deeper body of water than it is today) reflecting its impressive towers and curtain walls, it must also be one of the most photogenic.
When this image was made, the evening light cast on the castle walls was excessively bright and so required a small degree of de-saturation in Photoshop to reduce (but not eliminate) its impact. In an ideal world the waters of the mere would have been still, thus allowing a crystal-clear view of the castle’s reflection.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens.
Exposure of 1.3 seconds at f/14.
