Castlerigg Stone Circle, Cumbria
Castlerigg Stone Circle is an extraordinary archaeological feature situated in an equally extraordinary location overlooking Skiddaw, Blencathra and Lonscale Fell. One of the earliest stone circles in Britain, it is believed to have been constructed for religious or ceremonial purposes.
