Coastal East Anglia 1
Blakeney Quay, Norfolk
Blakeney Quay lies on the north coast of Norfolk. Best known, perhaps, for its local seal population, Blakeney is also home to a national nature reserve owned by the National Trust.
Shortly before this photograph was taken, Agar Creek, the body of water that serves the quay, had been almost empty. Boats lay with their hulls settled on the creek bed. Shortly after this photograph was taken the Creek was full, the boats now floating at the level of the road. The speed and noise of the incoming tide as it filled the Creek and headed on towards the local salt marshes were phenomenal.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens.
Exposure of 1/10 second at f/8.
