Sizewell, Suffolk

Sizewell as a location is best known for its nuclear power station, scheduled to be decommissioned by the end of this year. There's a strange incongruity in the relationship between, on the one hand, this building with its monolithic structure topped by a silver orb, and, on the other, its shingle beach neighbour which hosts the shapely tools of a far older industry.

Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens.

Exposure of 0.6 seconds at f/18.
