Coastal East Anglia 2
Felixstowe Ferry, Suffolk
Felixstowe Ferry is a wonderfully endearing place. At the end of a narrow lane that winds its way through acres of golf course, it consists of little more than two pubs, a cafe, dozens of wooden, stilted fishermen's huts, public lavatories and a boat yard. There's a feeling that space is at a premium - stacks of lobster pots jostle with rowing boats, anchors and ropes. Photographically, it is hard to find a good, uncluttered compostion in such a busy, bustling place; but nevertheless Felixstowe Ferry has considerable character and charm. It is one of those locations you hope will never change.
