Pass of Llanberis
It is easy to forgive Snowdonia for its apparently inseparable attachment to rain. Its beauty, come rain or shine, is due in part to the impressive lakes, rivers and waterfalls which exist because of the element that falls so plentifully from the Snowdonian sky.
The Pass of Llanberis runs from the car park near Llyn Llydaw down to Llyn Peris, and nearby stands Snowdon, Wales’s tallest mountain. The composition of this image was made with the aim of capturing the way the foreground stones appear to mimic the shape of the distant, cloud-capped hills.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens.
1.3 seconds’ exposure at f/22.
