Ob Breakish
Ob Breakish, or Breakish Bay, lies a short distance from Broadford on the astonishingly beautiful Isle of Skye. This composition was arranged with the aim of making the most of the lush and colourful foreground features, while ensuring that the sunlit Red Cuillins were given the voice they deserved.
Moments before this image was captured, Meg and Tessa, our two West Highland Terriers, sprinted around the grasslands of the Bay as if they were possessed. Their excitement and liveliness were a joy to see. They had cavorted with similar mad abandon on the sands of Sanna Bay on our visit there in 2007, and so it’s tempting to think that perhaps they were enlivened by some instinctive recognition that, as Westies, they were close to their ancestral roots!
