City Hall, London

There are times when you wonder if you really should place your tripod where a thousand photographers have previously placed theirs. The ground at this location, on the south bank of the Thames in London, would have indentations left by innumerous tripod feet were it not covered by concrete. However, despite the tarpaulin covering a part of Tower Bridge and the slightly unfortunate stain left at the foot of the steps, the opportunity to make an image of this unique edifice in what turned out to be the last few moments of favourable light was too good to resist.

This photograph was captured in the company of friends and photographers
Chris Shepherd and Kevin Goodchild.

Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens.

Exposure of 1/12 second at f/14.
