Le Crete

In Tuscany there are many hilltop farm buildings and lines of cypress trees such as these in Le Crete, a picturesque location near Siena. More often than not, such subjects are depicted in the midst of rich green crops, bright red poppies (as long as the farmer hasn't been too efficient with his spraying) and under classic Tuscan skies of blue. April seems not to be an ideal month for visiting if the hope is to capture the landscape in such conditions. On this occasion a dramatic sky was a fine substitute, and the conversion to black and white in Photoshop is an attempt to highlight the billowing clouds suspended over the Tuscan farm.
