Lake District
Wastwater, Cumbria
Looking towards Great Gable from the Over Beck bridge.
Reached by a narrow road winding through the spectacular Wasdale Valley, Wast Water is a secluded lake, its dramatic beauty due in part to the mountainous company it keeps : Yewbarrow, Great Gable and Scafell Pike look protectively down on it, while scree slopes slide with an almost vertical daring down to its water's edge.
Canon EOS 20D, EFS 17-85mm lens.
Exposure of 1.6 seconds at f/22.
