Lake District
Wastwater, Cumbria
Wastwater is one of our favourite lakes. Located in the Wastdale Valley, it has – whenever we have visited it – enjoyed an atmosphere of quiet seclusion in notable contrast to some of the district’s more popular, and perhaps more accessible, lakes. Surrounded by mountains, including Scafell Pike, Waterwater is the Lake District’s deepest lake. This view looks across Wastwater towards the distant peaks of Yewbarrow, Great Gable and Scafell Pike.
Canon EOS 20D and EFS 17-85mm lens.
