For most of our week in the Lake District, the weather was damp and overcast. However, during one afternoon the cloud had the generosity to clear, and the sight of this jetty at Derwentwater, bathed in light from the setting sun, was too much to resist - despite the fact that it is probably one of Cumbria's most photographed scenes. When the conditions are right, it is easy to see why.
