Hadleigh Castle
Hadleigh Castle enjoys a prominent position overlooking the Thames Estuary in Essex. This strategically placed structure, the building of which began in the early 13th century, is perhaps more photogenic in its ruinous state than it would have been if, four centuries after construction started, the castle not been abandoned to become a victim of subsidence and decay.
