The effect of a long exposure in simultaneously exaggerating and eliminating movement never fails to appeal. In this case the apparent smoothness of the water helps to emphasise the graphic qualities of the railings and planks of the pier, perhaps the most photographed feature of this most photogenic of Yorkshire’s coastal towns.
