Church Cove
Wild flowers grace the cliff tops on Cornwall’s rugged and wind-swept southern coastline. This is the view from the hills above Poldhu Cove towards Church Cove to the west.
Looks can be deceptive. The blue sky and passing banks of cloud; the sunlight illuminating the distant cliffs; the turquoise sea and carpets of wild flowers: all suggest a warm summer’s afternoon. Only the movement in the flowers betrays the fact that this image was captured on a very windy, autumnal day.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens
Exposure of 1/4 second at f/22.
