Jangye-ryn

The beach at Jangye-ryn lies on the other side of the picturesque church that stands beside the better known Church Cove, a short distance from the Cornish harbour village of Gunwalloe. As in so many parts of coastal Cornwall, the geology at Jangye-ryn is remarkable. For photographers who are based in a region where there are perhaps too few rocks, a visit to a location such as Jangye-ryn is akin to a schoolchild's first visit to a sweet shop - the dilemma is in knowing where to begin.

These rocks, resembling prehistoric shark's teeth, were an irresistible subject, especially when placed against the backdrop of a glorious sunset.

Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens.
