Porth Nanven
Porth Nanven is not an easy beach to find. There are no signposts directing you to this extraordinary National Trust-owned location, perhaps because its unique geological features would be placed at risk if it were to become too well known. We spent a great deal of time driving around the back streets of St Just before we managed to track down the little lane that leads to Porth Nanven. It was worth the effort. With its extraordinary rock formations, and its perfect egg-shaped stones, this is a magical location.
This image has been composed with the purpose of capturing the colours of the rocks sprinkled generously about the beach, the warmly lit cliff and the light produced by the low, late afternoon sun.
