Coastal East Anglia 2
Orford Ness, Suffolk
Orford Ness is not an easy location to photograph. When the light is generally at its best - during the winter or in the mornings or evenings at any other time - the Ness, which is owned by the National Trust, is closed to the public. It was fortunate, therefore, that at the time this was taken the cloud that had occupied the sky for most of the afternoon began to break and an interesting light appeared on the horizon.
The low angle of this composition is intended to place the attractive lighthouse in the context of the pebbled beach while retaining the appealing feature of the brightening sky.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-105mm lens.
Exposure of 1/5 second at f/22.
