Cornwall
Wheal Prosper, Rinsey Head
This well-preserved relic of Cornwall's mining era stands on a spectacular coastal position close to the town of Porthleven. The mine was closed in the 1860s, and the engine house acquired in 1969 by the National Trust.
This shot is intended to emphasize the hollow grandeur of the Victorian edifice by silhouetting it against the dramatic Atlantic sky.
Canon EOS 5D and EF 17-40mm lens.
Exposure of 1/13 second at f/20.
